Introduction to CRISPR-Cas9 Genome Editing - Design to Analysis (4 days)
Tools like CRISPR-Cas9 have dramatically changed our ability to precisely edit DNA sequence, enabling exciting and innovative new applications in cell engineering. This course will walk you through basic CRISPR DNA editing workflows in mammalian cells, from design and synthesis of target-specific guide RNAs to analysis of gene editing efficiency and sequence results.
Who Should Attend?
This is an intermediate-level laboratory skills course. Although it is an introduction to CRISPR-Cas9 and does not require any background knowledge of genome editing mechanisms or the CRISPR workflow, it is designed for life science professionals who have prior experience in basic molecular biology laboratory techniques, including PCR, and basic mammalian cell culturing techniques.
Also note this course is focused on mammalian cell applications, and there will be limited information on more advanced topics like screening and Cas9 variants. The concepts are widely applicable, but our ability to specifically support researchers working with other species or applications is limited.

Registrations are limited to 6 attendees per class to ensure low student-instructor ratios and a rich educational experience.

Design strategies for successful gene editing ( 1 day)
Tools like CRISPR-Cas9 have dramatically changed our ability to precisely edit DNA sequence, enabling exciting and innovative new applications in cell engineering. This interactive workshop will focus on basic design strategies for target-specific guide RNAs (gRNA) and homology-directed repair (HDR) templates to be used in gene editing experiments. A short overview will also be presented on delivery and detection methods that can be considered for this application.

This is an introductory level workshop and does not require any background knowledge of genome editing mechanisms or the CRISPR workflow; it is designed for life science professionals who have prior experience in basic molecular biology laboratory techniques, including PCR, and basic mammalian cell culturing techniques.

Microarray transcriptome analysis training ( 1 day)
This workshop focuses on the microarray expression analysis procedure and includes the critical steps of primary and secondary analysis as well as validation of the generated results. Learn about important considerations while planning your microarray study. You will also see how to assess data quality, identify differentially expressed genes and alternative splicing events as well as how to generate mRNA-miRNA interaction networks using our latest version of Transcriptome Analysis Console (TAC) software.
The course is intended for existing users and potentially new users of expression microarrays who want to obtain more in depth understanding of microarray expression experiments and its analysis, both at gene level and exon level analysis for coding and non-coding RNA.
